My wonderful team and I at the 2016 Community #DoGood Summit. The Kings hosted over 400 non-profits from all around the Sacramento region in an effort to further and build connections with organizations that power Sacramento forward.
Interning with my hometown team, the Sacramento Kings, was a dream come true. I got to work on behalf of a place I'm so proud of and for a team I've followed my whole life. Sacramento is a diverse community that cares for each other, it's guided and shaped my values and world view. It was extremely fulfilling to spend a summer giving back to my city.
As a member of the Community Impact department, I:
- Assisted with the organization of Jr. Kings camps and clinics for youth basketball players from around Northern California. Additionally, we hosted a traveling team of Japanese grade-schoolers at the final basketball camp.
- Organized and facilitated large-scale donations to local non-profit organizations
- Responded to fan requests and assisted with donation/event requests
- Helped clean up the American River Parkway through the Kings LIFT volunteer program

- Collaborated with other Kings U interns on an employee handbook to be used at the Golden 1 Center
One of the last triples to ever tickle the twine at Arco Arena, my workplace for the summer.
